A 20 mph speed limit is set to be introduced in Sheffield On 300+ Roads By End Of 2017.
Sheffield City Council is hoping to reduce the number of accidents on the roads by reducing the speed limit on over 300 roads in the city. Apart from a few major roads such as Derek Dooley Way, Sheaf Street and Arundel Gate nearly every street will be hit with this reduced speed limit. By doing this The Council hope it will encourage people to take up other methods of travel such as cycling and using public transport more.
This reduced speed limit is expected to be implemented by the end of 2017 and is sure to frustrate a lot of people with a black box installed in their car. My question is, will this cause more problems than it solves as a lot of drivers will for sure ignore these speed limits and be aggressive towards those who either follow the limit or have no choice but to due to having the box in their cars.
How do you feel about reduced speed limits in Sheffield City Centre?
